Whole wheat bagels With two ingredient dough. Well, The way I make these it is actually three ingredient dough. Recipe below.
Recipe/mix in a bowl:
1 cup of Whole wheat bread flour
1 cup of a cup of Fage nonfat Greek yogurt
2 teaspoons of baking powder.
Mix the contents very well and knead it with your hands. Then transfer to a surface where you could knead it some more. I use parchment paper sprinkled with flour.
Then divide the dough after kneading it well into four pieces. Make 4 balls with the dough and poke a hole in the center of each to make a bagel shape. Then brush on egg whites on the top. I used less than one egg white for all four of these bagels
On a nonstick pan, bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 to 23 minutes until done. Today I baked them for 23 minutes.
1 cup of whole wheat bread flour= 511 Calories
1 of a cup of Siggis nonfat greek yogurt = 133 calories
1/4 an egg white (to brush on top of the bagels) = 5 calories
650 calories / by 4 = 163 Calories each.
I think I like these whole wheat bagels better than the everything bagels. They tasted awesome. I posted a video on how to make the everything bagels you just make the dough the same way with whole wheat flour. So easy and quick to make. Great project for you to do with your children. So much fun!
